COSTRUCTION

Pump impeller with specially shaped body that makes the pump selfpriming. Open impeller withfront and rear wear plate. Shaft with external oil lubricated bearings . Mechanical seal suitable for dirty liquids with external lubrication. Check valve integrated in the inlet nozzle. Removable covers for inspection and cleaning. Easy dismantling for maintenance.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The body has a particular shape that makes the pump self-priming. When starting the pump must be partially filled with the liquid; the action of the impeller then creates a depression which sucks air from the suction pipe and mixes with the rotating liquid. The mixture of air and water is centrifuged by the impeller in the outer part of the casing where the water is separated from the air and come back into circulation while the air is expelled into the delivery pipe. The intake check valve prevents the emptying of the pump during the first filling and during the pump stops. The time of priming depends on the size of the suction line.
After the complete priming the pump works as a centrifugal pump. In case of air coming from suction line, pump is able to re-prime itself.
